HeySmile® makes clear aligner therapy look and feel easy

Dr Michalis Tanteles studied dentistry at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece, where he received his DDS degree before moving on to work at the Yakubiv Dental Clinic in Central Nicosia, Cyprus. He completed his first two orthodontic cases with HeySmile® clear aligners earlier this year.
According to Dr Tanteles, his interest in clear aligner therapy was a personal one, as occlusal problems had always been of special interest to him. At the same time, he was constantly seeing patients at the Yakubiv clinic who were signalling interest in a discreet and cost-effective treatment for minor malocclusions as well as aesthetic issues. As it turned out, HeySmile was just the right fit.

Happy patient, happy doctor
This patient’s crowding on the lower arch was treated with 20 upper and 20 lower HeySmile® aligners over the course of six months.
But about that first patient. Dr Tanteles’ first HeySmile case was a patient whose main concern was crowding on the lower arch. With treatment planning completed in just three days, the patient was started on a HeySmile regimen which included 20 upper and 20 lower aligners over the course of six months. It was a resounding success.
“This particular patient is a regular visitor at our clinic, and now they’re always telling people how very easy the treatment was. Some patients worry that ortho treatment is something other people will be able to see when they smile. But this patient would come in and say, ‘I’m actually undergoing this treatment now.’ Then they would take the aligners out and the others would say, ‘If you hadn’t shown me, I would never have known you were wearing anything.’”
Since then, Dr Tanteles has successfully completed another HeySmile case, with two more underway as well as a few patients that are waiting for their first consultations. “I don’t want to say aligner treatment is easy, but it’s a very smooth treatment in regards to anything that you do in dentistry, and I very, very much appreciate the support from HeySmile.”
