The new Planmeca ProScanner® 2.0 imaging plate scanner has been designed for active use. It is extremely durable, very reliable and produces high quality images. The scanner is now available for deliveries within the European Economic Area (EEA).

Imaging plate scanners are used just like digital sensors and in a similar way as X-ray film, so the learning curve for new users is short. The scanners are part of a modern clinic’s intraoral imaging workflow and provide numerous benefits.

With its intelligent design details and outstanding durability, the new Planmeca ProScanner® 2.0 imaging plate scanner supports everyday tasks at a clinic in an optimal way – providing reliability that separates it from the competition.

Due to its small footprint, Planmeca ProScanner 2.0 can be easily installed to any clinic and treatment room. It is even possible to mount it on a wall with a bracket. The affordable price and compact size of the scanner make it an ideal investment for chairside use.

Simple and efficient imaging workflow

Planmeca ProScanner 2.0 significantly speeds up a clinic’s intraoral imaging workflow with its streamlined scanning process. The scanner does not need to be calibrated and it is simple to install and carefree to use. Just insert an imaging plate, scan it and diagnose the captured image!

For ideal efficiency, Planmeca ProScanner 2.0 smoothly integrates with the Romexis® software. The scanner itself has only one button (power on/off), so you simply need to initiate image capturing from Romexis and insert an imaging plate to start scanning.

The scanner’s control panel is simple and intuitive, with LED indicator lights guiding you through the whole scanning workflow. In turn, the Romexis user interface offers clear and intuitive image previews. The software automatically detects if a plate is accidentally exposed from the wrong side (the backside) and alerts you with a warning message – helping to prevent misguided diagnoses.

Reliable imaging plate scanning

Planmeca ProScanner 2.0 is maintenance-free and is well suited for even the longest of workdays. Its scan engine (MEMS) is completely capsuled and protected. The scanner’s reliability and durability help clinics to avoid downtime and ensure maximum efficiency.

Most other scanners mechanically move the imaging plate during the scanning process. This wears out both the plate and the scanner’s mechanical parts, meaning that they need to be replaced more often.

In turn, the imaging plate remains motionless inside Planmeca ProScanner 2.0 during the scanning process. There is no beam deflector or transport belt, which means that the scanner itself is subject to less wear and tear. This also protects the imaging plates from scratches and wearing down, which helps maintain image quality and makes sure the plates last longer.

Smart Planmeca imaging plates

To ensure optimal image quality, Planmeca ProScanner 2.0 is only compatible with smart Planmeca imaging plates. They are available in three different sizes: 0, 1 and 2. The thin and soft plates are not surrounded by a plastic frame, so 100% of their surface is used to capture an image.

The plates are durable and can be reused. Their rounded edges ensure that the plates ergonomically fit into patients’ mouths and make procedures comfortable. Each plate has a white backside that enhances visibility and helps positioning.

After inserting a plate, Planmeca ProScanner 2.0 automatically scans, erases and ejects it – making the plate immediately ready for further use.

High image quality

Planmeca ProScanner 2.0 provides images of consistently high quality. Excellent image quality can already be achieved using factory presets and the image settings can also be easily adjusted according to diagnostic preference.

The quality of the imaging plates can be tracked using reports created with the Romexis Report® software module. Each plate is equipped with a digital serial number that allows sorting, viewing and comparing images for quality control. If the quality of a plate starts to deteriorate, it is easy to identify. This ensures that image quality always remains optimal.

Deliveries of Planmeca ProScanner 2.0 have now started to countries in the European Economic Area (EEA). Other regions will follow once further approvals are completed. Reach out to your local distributor to hear more!
