First revealed at IDS 2025, the Planmeca Onyx™ intraoral scanner is now available for orders. Designed for clinical environments where efficiency, accuracy, and adaptability are essential, the scanner brings advanced performance and exceptional usability to every dental workflow.
Planmeca Onyx combines high‑tech optics and powerful LED lighting with intelligent software to capture digital impressions with precise geometry and detail. All scanning is performed and processed directly within the Planmeca Romexis® software platform, which provides comprehensive tools for diagnostics, dental analyses, treatment planning, and patient communication.

Built on years of user feedback and deep understanding of clinical workflows, Planmeca Onyx delivers unforeseen flexibility for different clinical environments. As part of the Planmeca PULSE™ digital ecosystem, Planmeca Onyx integrates seamlessly with Planmeca’s comprehensive CAD/CAM offering, ensuring smooth digital workflows and supporting excellent clinical outcomes. Scans captured with Planmeca Onyx are instantly available on all Romexis workstations for treatment planning, restoration design, and clear aligner consultations. Designs can then be transferred directly to Planmeca PlanMill® milling units or Planmeca Creo® X 3D printer for high-precision manufacturing.
