Plastipak Packaging Triumphs at the WorldStar Packaging Awards
Plastipak Packaging has won five prestigious WorldStar Packaging Awards.
The competition, which recognises and rewards international packaging design innovation and excellence is organised by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) and is widely recognised as being the most important packaging awards competition in the world, with WorldStars only presented to packs that have already won acknowledgement in national or regional competitions.
In selecting winners, representatives from 19 packaging associations and members of the WPO, judged 293 packaging projects from 35 countries that entered the WorldStar Awards 2016. The judging sessions took place on 8th and 10th October during WPO’s Board Meeting program, held in Mumbai, India. A WorldStar Awards presentation ceremony and dinner will be held in Budapest, Hungary on 26 May 2016.
Plastipak’s five WorldStars were awarded for:
E-LiquiPack - an innovative packaging system for e-liquid used to refill electronic cigarettes.
SprayPET Reveal® - the world's first transparent bag-on-valve aerosol system. Opening up a potential new world of eye-catching aerosols with maximum impact, SprayPET Reveal® is a technically innovative solution that delivers consumer benefits.
nordictan self-tanning lotion - a successful commercialised product packaged in a SprayPET aerosol.
New ThermaLite® Range of Jars - groundbreaking PET jars that are designed to replace glass jars. ThermaLite is ideal for food applications and can be hot-filled and pasteurised. It offers significant weight and carbon footprint savings.
ThermaLite® Helios - used for a burger relish/sauce by Helios to support a limited edition burger campaign by an international fast-food chain. As glass is banned in foodservice, the ThermaLite® PET jar proved ideal packaging.
These latest wins cap an already incredible haul of awards this year for Plastipak, which has included three gold and two bronze Starpack awards, a Spanish Liderpack Award, two UK Packaging Awards and the recent Pack the Future Award in November.
Kinza Sutton, Marketing Manager of Plastipak Packaging Europe, said: “It has been a remarkable 2015 and what better way to close the year off than by winning 5 WorldStar Awards! We are absolutely delighted and honoured to have achieved such accolades during the second half of the year.
“Gaining international recognition at this level is indicative of Plastipak’s determination to constantly innovate and create solutions for our customers.”
