Education UK and CollegeWeekLive Partner to Provide College-Bound Students with Live Chat with Universities Across the United Kingdom. Register for Free at www.CollegeWeekLive.com
CollegeWeekLiveä, the world’s leading website for online college fairs and admissions events, and Education UK, brought to you by the British Council, have partnered to provide students exploring college outside of the United States with a firsthand look at more than thirty universities across the United Kingdom on Tuesday, October 16 at CollegeWeekLive STUDY IN THE U.K. DAY – brought to you by Education UK. The free live online event, which begins at 10:00 am Eastern and continues until 8:00 PM, will offer teens and their families live chat with admissions officials at U.K universities and will include streaming video presentations featuring admissions experts discussing topics such as scholarship opportunities, student life and visa requirements for students considering studying abroad in Great Britain.
Few U.S. students consider college across the Atlantic, despite the fact that nineteen of the top 100 ranked universities in the world are in the United Kingdom, according to the 2011 U.S. News & WORLD REPORT rankings of the World’s Best Universities. For example, King’s College London, a participant in CollegeWeekLive STUDY IN THE U.K. DAY, is ranked 27th in the world, yet may be inadvertently overlooked by American teens considering beginning their college search.
“The goal of this event is to literally broaden students’ horizons beyond our national borders when considering higher education options,” said Mike Garvin, Vice President of College and Consortium Partnerships for CollegeWeekLive. “We are honored to be partnering with Education UK to showcase the superb academic opportunities available in the United Kingdom.”
At CollegeWeekLive STUDY IN THE U.K. DAY, students can take part in or listen to live chats with admissions representatives from more than thirty U.K. colleges, and attendees will be eligible for a $1,000 CollegeWeekLive scholarship just for logging in to the free live online event and researching potential higher education options “across the pond.”
