Platzer has acquired the property Backa 173:2 at Deltavägen 4 in Gothenburg through a corporate transaction. The rentable area is almost 6,000 square metres, and the largest tenants are Rusta and Mekonomen.

Backaplan is one of Sweden's largest retail estates and one of four strategic hubs in Gothenburg's ongoing development programme. Work on detailed planning for the area is under way in a partnership between the City of Gothenburg and property owners such as Platzer. Platzer already owned three properties in the area.

"Platzer's strategy is to grow through the acquisition and development of properties in parts of the Gothenburg area undergoing development and renewal, and this acquisition further strengthens our position in Backaplan, one of Gothenburg's most exciting development areas," says P-G Persson, CEO of Platzer.

The vendor is a privately owned property company, and the property will be transferred on 16 May 2014. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
