HitachiSoft and Pointsec join forces to improve security

HitachiSoft distributes Hibun AE Full Disk Encryption under OEM agreement for Pointsec for PC

Stockholm, SWEDEN – April 12, 2006 – Pointsec Mobile Technologies, the global leader and the provider of the de facto standard for enterprise security software for laptop and desktop PCs, PDAs and smartphones, and Hitachi Software Engineering Co., Ltd. (HitachiSoft) today announced the formation of a new partnership. As the first step in their collaboration, HitachiSoft has obtained OEM rights from Pointsec for its flagship product, Pointsec for PC, which protects against information leakage from lost, stolen or discarded notebooks and PCs through full-disk encryption. HitachiSoft currently offers per disk data encryption, removable media encryption and file encryption through Hibun AE Information Cypher (Hibun AE IC). By incorporating Pointsec for PC in its product line under the name Hibun AE FDE, HitachiSoft is adding full-disk encryption to its offerings to provide its customers with the highest level of protection against the loss of confidential information from lost, stolen or discarded laptops and PCs. Hibun AE FDE will further enrich HitachiSoft's Hibun series of products to satisfy diversified customers' encryption needs.
