Zippsafe boosts hygiene of its soft locker technology with Polygiene ViralOff
Zippsafe®, the award-winning Swiss company which has reinvented the locker by replacing hard materials such as metal or wood with a smart textile, is now treating its products with the Polygiene ViralOffTM antimicrobial technology from Swedish firm Polygiene®.
The core of the Zippsafe solution is formed by textile locker bags which flexibly adapt in size to the items stored and require only 30% of the space compared to a classic locker. Clothes can be conveniently hung up via a pull-out hanger, and locker management is digitalized with the Zippsafe Management System.
The solution also provides integrated ventilation, improving locker room hygiene and reducing the risk of contamination of fresh workwear.
Now, the company is further enhancing the hygiene of its products with Polygiene ViralOff – a treatment of textiles and other products that reduces micro-organisms by over 99% on the material*.
The technology was introduced last year in response to the growing demand for antimicrobial solutions sparked by Corona pandemic. To develop the treatment, Polygiene returned to its roots – the company started in the healthcare sector in 2004 during the battle against SARS.
The inner lining of the locker bags in Zippsafe’s two main products – ZippSpace Pro and ZippSpace Regular – are now treated with Polygiene ViralOff.
Zippsafe, whose solutions are used by workers in a range of sectors across manufacturing and healthcare, says it opted to use Polygiene ViralOff after identifying the benefits of antimicrobial fabric.“In addition to the enormous space savings, we were convinced from the start that our smart soft locker technology offered enormous advantages,” the company states. “One of them we saw in hygiene, with the possibility to wash the bags completely in case of heavy soiling. Last year, the discussion intensified and we started looking for smart and antimicrobial textiles. In the process, we came across Polygiene”, says Carlo Loderer , CEO and Co-Founder ofZippsafe.
“We are excited to be part of the journey of Zippsafe and happy to supply them with a vital functionality of their products. Their innovation has revolutionized the market with a new solution to an old problem, in just a few years – we see a big potential in this untapped market in the years to come”, says Haymo Strubel, VP Commercial Operations EMEA Polygiene.
The ZippSpace Pro (including the digital locking via RFID technology) and ZippSpace Regular (trusting analog padlocks) bags treated with Polygiene ViralOff are available to order now. For more information and consulting on how to optimize and innovate your employee locker rooms, reach out directly.
