New Wireless Router from Possio opens new business opportunities for 3G operators
Possio introduces the next generation of their Wireless Router – Possio PX40. The PX40 is focused on mass deployment of Internet connectivity services using the data capabilities of today’s and tomorrow’s 3G networks. Possio presents the PX40 during 3GSM, 14th to 17th of February in Cannes, France. “We are very proud to introduce this new generation of our Wireless Router”, says CEO David Thorberg. “The technology to offer Ethernet or WLAN access to the Internet using UMTS networks as backhaul has been available from Possio for quite some time, the big news is that it now can be done at half the cost and with comprehensive security and authentication mechanisms. We see the PX40 as a unique tool for Mobile Operators to attract new customers and to offer additional services to their existing customer base”, Mr. Thorberg continues. The PX40 connects Wireless LAN and Ethernet users to Internet using 3G UMTS networks. It supports both UMTS FDD, which is widely spread in Europe and Asia, and UMTS TDD, a more data centric flavour of the UMTS standard. By using the PX40, Mobile Operators can broaden their data services and potential customer groups by offering Residential Internet Access, Mobile Offices, Hotspot on the Move and Redundant Internet Access.
