Green Cargo Logistics is now a part of PostNord

PostNord has today finalized the acquisition of Green Cargos subsidiary Green Cargo Logistics AB. The acquisition means that PostNord now is one of the main Nordic actors within the market of third-party logisitics.

On March 26, 2012 PostNord and Green Cargo annnounced their signing of an agreement for PostNord’s acquisition of Green Cargos subsidiary Green Cargo Logistics. On May 14 the Swedish Competition Authority approved the acquisition. Green Cargo Logistics is from May 31 a part of PostNord’s business area Logisitics.

PostNord’s group strategic focus includes continued growth within logistics. PostNord’s logistics operations within the Nordic region had net sales of approximately SEK 13 billion in 2011 and is weighted towards packages, pallets, and express delivery. The acquisition of Green Cargo Logistics strengthens PostNord’s third-party logistics operations which is fully in line with the group’s strategic focus. The market for third-party logistics is experiencing significant growth.

Green Cargo Logistics is Sweden’s second largest company within third-party logistics, with a total storage space of 260 000 m2 in modern premises in Stockholm, Norrköping, Gothenburg, Helsingborg and Copenhagen. In 2011, Green Cargo Logistics had net sales of approximately SEK 1 Billion and an operating profit of SEK 61 Million.
