Reduced component size and low cost operation makes it ideal for extending signal strength for small indoor coverage applications

3GSM WORLD CONGRESS, CANNES, FRANCE, Hall 2, Stand D48 – Feb. 16, 2005 - Powerwave Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:PWAV), a leading supplier of end-to-end wireless infrastructure solutions, introduced the latest addition to its product line of repeaters, the Mini Repeater, today at 3GSM World Congress, the mobile industry’s premier event, taking place in Cannes, France Feb. 14-17. Extending the distance over which data can travel, and preserving signal integrity by regenerating wireless signals, the Powerwave Mini Repeater for WCDMA 2100 MHz features a robust RF design capable of coexisting/co-locating with both GSM 900 and GSM 1800 systems. The Mini Repeater’s discrete, small design and low total cost of ownership, makes it ideal for small indoor coverage applications. The Mini Repeater features low power output, an external power supply, and adjustable bandwidth ranging from 5 to 15 MHz. Additionally, a remote control unit exists as an option, which enables operators to manage and control the system via various software packages, including Powerwave’s NetWay Manager™, which provides operators with a common network management platform for the entire Powerwave product line. “The discrete and compact design of the Powerwave Mini Repeater provides increased levels of flexibility, enabling network operators to design customized solutions that specifically meet the needs of each building or facility,” said Ronald J. Buschur, President and Chief Executive Officer, Powerwave Technologies. “In addition, by combating low signal levels in dense indoor environments, the Mini Repeater offers a cost-effective solution for improving network performance.” The Mini Repeater will be compliant with Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) emission requirements, and later this year, will come outfitted with an in-built service antenna for more cost-effective and discrete installation.
