TMA Increases Network Coverage and Capacity; Extends Handset Battery Life 3GSM World Congress 2006, BARCELONA, Booth #F36 – Feb. 14, 2006 - Powerwave Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:PWAV), a global source for end-to-end wireless infrastructure solutions, today launched its dual duplex Extended Global Systems for Mobile Communications (EGSM) 900MHz full band tower mounted amplifier (TMA) at 3GSM World Congress 2006, the mobile industry’s premier event, taking place February 13-16, here in Barcelona. Designated the LGP192nn, this latest addition to Powerwave’s growing family of TMAs is designed to enhance coverage and improve up-link signal quality in GSM, GPRS and EDGE networks. Benefits include compact design, state-of-the-art performance, excellent power handling, low insertion loss and exceptional reliability. The LGP192nn can also simplify network logistics, particularly when the frequency bands are scattered “With more than 1.1 million tower mounted amplifiers currently deployed worldwide, Powerwave continues to be a leading supplier of wireless infrastructure solutions, providing our customers one of the industry’s largest and most diverse offerings of amplifier systems for cellular, PCS, GSM and 3G networks,” said Ronald J. Buschur, President and CEO, Powerwave Technologies. “Our dual duplex 900MHz EGSM TMAs can optimize coverage capacity with a reduced number of base stations for new rollouts, as well as improve the coverage and capacity of existing base stations.” Powerwave’s patented design consisting of all active components integrated within the filter body, provides an extremely reliable, compact, lightweight and cost-effective TMA solution. Easy to install, the 900MHz full band EGSM TMA is comprised of high-Q band-pass filters and balanced low-noise amplifiers with circuits for active bias, supervision, alarms and lightening protection. A vented enclosure design prevents condensation, ensuring long, reliable, maintenance-free service in all environments.
