Powwownow recruits new CTO to support strong growth plans

Powwownow, the UK’s leading free conference call provider, today announces that Chris Martin, previously of Cheapflights Media has joined the company as Chief Technology Officer.

Powwownow has seen unprecedented growth across all its product offerings over the past 12 months, with the business developing at a rate of 30% increase year-on-year. This level of growth identified a need for a CTO that would continue to drive the technology and innovation side of the business to cultivate expansion even further. In particular, new products such as Powwownow Engage - a service which integrates desktop sharing, presence, instant messaging and one-touch voice and HD video to better facilitate real-time collaborations.

Chris brings over 20 years of experience to Powwownow, in building and leading technology teams to deliver innovative and scalable technology solutions for business and consumer sectors.

In his previous role as CTO at Cheapflights Media, Chris was responsible for architecting, building and supporting the technology platform to satisfy over 140 million global annual visits, and the gathering of millions of daily travel deals.

Prior to his role at Cheapflights Media, Chris was CTO of eBuyer.com, a leading UK ecommerce web site, where he was responsible for the website and all e-commerce and back-office systems to support the business. Chris has also led Production and Engineering teams for the renowned web search business AskJeeves in Europe. Over a five year period, Chris defined and implemented the technologies and systems to support the company's UK presence and growth into several European countries.
