PPG Tikkurila today announced the Color Now 2026 collection and Chameleon L391 as the 2026 Color of the Year for the Tikkurila brand. Chameleon is a versatile yellow-green shade that balances soothing comfort with a touch of energy and vitality, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

In natural daylight, Chameleon evokes a sense of calm; in shadowed and low-light spaces, it reveals a layered depth. This intriguing quality makes it a great choice for residential interiors, commercial environments, and product design alike.

“Chameleon is a versatile shade that adapts to its surroundings,” says Irina Hanhisalo, Color Category Lead. “Its botanical aesthetic makes it especially effective in interiors that aim to feel connected to nature. In hospitality settings, the shade creates a relaxing atmosphere, while in residential spaces, it evokes a bold, contemporary feel.”

Rooted in nostalgia and craftsmanship, the Color Now 2026 palette celebrates the feeling of community, longevity, and meaningful materials. Designed to support sustainable and emotionally resonant environments, it brings warmth and familiarity to reflect timeless appeal.

“Color Now palette colors pair well with soft luster finishes, embossed textures, woven wood, rattan, copper tones, marquetry, and sanded surfaces,” Hanhisalo adds.

For the first time, Tikkurila's Color of the Year is the same as PPG's Color of the Year, as PPG is Tikkurila's owner. Only the name of the color varies from country to country. In certain European countries, the shade is also known as Secret Safari (PPG1110-4) or CH2 0813 Vert Capulin.

Tikkurila Color Now collection and the Color of the Year have been launched annually since 2016 and PPG’s Color of the Year since 2015.

The Color of the Year is selected through a global, collaborative process led by the company’s team of color experts. The process begins more than a year in advance and involves extensive research into emerging trends across architecture, interior design, nature, fashion, art, technology, and innovation. The final color is chosen based on its alignment with global trends, relevance across industries and regions, emotional resonance, and versatility in application and material compatibility.

The Color of the Year can be purchased from paint and hardware stores that sell Tikkurila products. There are approximately 500 sales outlets throughout Finland.
