Michael O’Connor Lends Millions of Dollars Worth in Jewelry for Red Carpets Events this Weekend
Los Angeles, CA (January 12, 2013) – This past week, celebrities including Sara Rue (“Malibu Country”), Ashley Finke (“Glee”), Kathleen Robertson (“Boss”), Nikki Deloach (“Awkward”), Katrina Parker (“The Voice”), Kate Flannery (”The Office”), Michael Steger (“90210”), Jai Rodriguez (“Malibu Country”), Antonio Cupo (“Bomb Girls”), Jay Hector (“The Rapture”), Jeneba Tarboh (Olympic gold medalist), Kate Linder (“The Young & the Restless”), Reinhold Heil (Golden Globe nominee – Best Original Score “Cloud Atlas”) and others as well as top stylists for the biggest names in Hollywood got a coveted appointment at StyleLab’s Jewelry Preview for the 70th Golden Globe Awards. Guests had the opportunity to borrow from over $30 million worth of jewelry for all the major red carpet events, as award show season officially began.
Michael O’Connor, leading style expert and host of MovieStyle with Michael O’Connor on Reelz Channel, curated a selection of dazzling and unique pieces from world-renowned brands such as Abellan New York, American Gem Trade Association, Bellarri, Dena Kemp, Edward Mirell, Jewelry by Gail, Just Jules, Mark Lash, Silver Promotion Service, and Takat, among others.
Here’s the scoop on what celebrities and their stylists were eyeing for the Golden Globe Awards, Critics’ Choice Awards, and surrounding red carpet parties.
Carrie Keagan (“Big Morning Buzz Live”) chose a pair of Zambian emerald earrings (31.38 carats) with diamonds (11.63 Carats) by Takat for the Critics’ Choice Awards. Keagan’s earrings are valued at $160,000. The Show’s gorgeous trophy models both selected linear drop earrings from Dena Kemp and Just Jules. One model opted for Dena Kemp’s earrings with over 48 carats of white diamonds. The other model sparkled in a pair of triple multi-colored diamond earrings surrounded by white diamonds from Just Jules, priced at $15,000.
A pair of earrings from Abellan New York with over 21 carats of white and brown diamonds, emeralds, Mozambique garnets, and South Sea and Akoya golden pearls enamored Kathleen Robertson.
Kate Flannery was excited to try on a pair of diamond and tanzanite earrings from Shaftel Diamond Co. for the American Gem Trade Association, worth $30,000.
Sara Rue was a big fan of the Baggins pearl earrings from the American Gem Trade Association. The design featured Akoya pearls, white South Sea pearls, Tahitian pearls and diamond accents (2.42 carats), priced at $26,000. She also loved the diamond chandelier earrings from Mark Lash, set with 720 white diamonds, and priced at $36,800.
Katrina Parker was obsessed with jewelry from Bellarri, especially a diamond, Mother of Pearl, and Rhodium necklace, valued at $9,595.
Michael Steger immediately gravitated towards the “Chaos” bracelet from Edward Mirell, featuring black titanium and sterling silver accents topped with gray titanium H-links.
Nikki Deloach couldn’t wait to try on the “Sugar and Champagne” platinum ring from Jewelry By Gail that included natural champagne, red and brown diamonds in a woven design, at a price of $58,000.
Ashley Finke fancied the removable drop earrings from Thistle & Bee for the Silver Promotion Service, priced at $295. And, Antonio Cupo couldn’t stop admiring the diamond and blue topaz engraved cufflinks from Scott Kay for the Silver Promotion Service, worth $4,875.
Several other designs featured in StyleLab’s Jewelry Event for the 70th Golden Globe Awards were selected for the 70th Golden Globe Awards red carpet and parties.
