Brooktrout Technology delivers Realcomm 100 standards-based communications server
BROOKTROUT TECHNOLOGY DELIVERS REALCOMM 100 STANDARDS-BASED COMMUNICATIONS SERVER The First Implementation of ECTF's S.100 Revision 2 Media Server Brussels, Belgium, December 14 - Brooktrout Technology has announced RealComm 100, a communications server and software development kit (SDK) that provides developers with an open, standards-based platform for developing computer telephony (CT) applications. RealComm 100 is the first industry-standard, open platform implementation of the ECTF S.100 Revision 2 specification that supports developers efforts to build next generation innovative electronic communications solutions for call centres, interactive voice response, enhanced call services, automated attendant, directory services, and unified messaging. The RealComm 100 communications server will help developers reduce time to market and provide them with investment protection. Brooktrout Technology has also launched its Early Adopter Program to enable developers an early start at developing applications. "The RealComm 100 server, with support of the S.100 API, complements Brooktrout Technology's popular portfolio of APIs that have a proven history of delivering innovative, high performance capabilities for voice, fax and data applications, while providing backward compatibility for investment protection," said Eric Giler, president of Brooktrout, Inc. "By adding S.100 support to this API portfolio, Brooktrout Technology facilitates the delivery of a class of solutions that include multiple, interoperable applications sharing communication servers locally and across networks." The RealComm 100 SDK is available immediately to selected Early Adopters. It is available in two configurations: a software only kit, which includes client and server software, API reference manual, configuration utilities, installation programs, and sample applet code; and in a complete hardware and software kit. The RealComm 100 SDK will be generally available to all developers in March, 2000 and will be downloadable via the Brooktrout Technology website at that time.
