As Scotgrass 2010 rapidly approaches, a leading manufacturer of silage balewrap and silage clamp sheeting is pulling out all the stops to ensure its appearance is one of its best ever. In recently published plans, bpi.agri has revealed it will not only showcase its existing highly respected products at the show, but launch a brand new addition to its range, hold a special prize draw and stage a unique ‘questions and answers’ session with a silage production expert. Whilst perhaps best known for its world leading balewraps like Polybale®, Silotite® and Visqueen Poliwrap®, the product set to take centre stage on the bpi.agri stand (Stand 182) won’t actually be a balewrap at all. It will be a clamp sheet. Receiving its official public launch, Visqueen Clingseal is a high performance sheeting film which appreciably reduces top and shoulder losses at the clampface. Designed for use underneath a conventional, high quality silage sheet like bpi.agri’s Visqueen Agri-S, Visqueen Clingseal’s thinner nature allows it to ‘cling’ more closely to the contours of the clamp’s surface and to tuck in more at the sides. The net result is a closer fitting air barrier with fewer air pockets – a major cause of aerobic spoilage. In addition and as a further benefit of the improved air seal achievable with Visqueen Clingseal, silage fermentation becomes quicker and more efficient, resulting in silage with greater nutritional value. Aside from being able to learn more about this exciting new addition to the bpi.agri range, visitors to the firm’s stand will also be able to get answers to some of their most frequent silage making challenges, problems or concerns. Senior representatives from bpi.agri’s sales team will be on-hand to offer tips and advice whilst the manufacturer is staging a special questions and answers session from noon to 2pm with Dr. Dave Davies – an expert in silage/rumen nutrition from IBERS (the Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences). What’s more, for a spot of fun and to thank those visiting its stand for their interest, bpi.agri will also be running a prize draw with a whole pallet of Silotite balewrap up for grabs.
