bpi.recycled products is set to raise awareness of its ability to help educational establishments play an additional part in protecting the environment. The leading manufacturer of products from recycled plastic has revealed plans to attend the 2009 Eco Schools Show at Stoneleigh Conference and Exhibition Centre near Coventry on the 24th June. At the event, which aims to showcase the efforts of eco-conscious schools and their suppliers, the largest reprocessor of waste polythene in Europe with the capacity to recycle in excess of 70,000 tonnes a year through a network of Environment Agency sites, intends to promote its Plaswood range. Long lasting, low maintenance and able to divert waste from landfill thanks to their production from materials such as used balewrap and scrap packaging, Plaswood products include fencing, decking and a number of items that are ideal for schools like activity tables. These tables can feature various activities or games on their surfaces, ranging from 4-in-a-row, chess and draughts to play towns and table football pitches. In fact, the manufacturer actually plans to giveaway one of these tables at the show as the prize in a special snakes and ladders competition. Schools can enter simply by visiting the bpi.recycled products’ stand – stand number 4. Speaking of the planned appearance, Guy Coates, Marketing Director at bpi.recycled products said: “As part of the wider BPI (British Polythene Industries) group, bpi.recycled products is committed to helping people to use polythene in a more sustainable way. Polythene is sometimes unfairly treated without us being fully aware of its greener advantages – such as its lightweight, which prevents heavier, more energy and material intensive packaging being used, or its ability to be recycled again and again, unlike wood or paper. At the Eco Schools Show, we’re hoping to go some way in redressing this balance.” ENDS
