One of the UK’s leading manufacturers of converter, stretch and shrink films has played host to an important royal visitor. His Royal Highness, The Duke of York, visited the Sevenoaks site of bpi.films on Wednesday 21st October 2009 in his official capacity as the UK’s Special Representative for International Trade and Investment working with UKTI (UK Trade and Investment). Already a leading player in the British market, bpi.films also exports its range of converter film products which are used in a variety of sectors including food packaging, medical packaging and liquid packaging. During his visit, The Duke was able to tour the site’s state-of-the art production facilities and to discuss the company’s export activities with members of the bpi.films’ team. Commenting on the visit, Dr David Pendlebury, Managing Director from bpi.films, said: “The day has been a great success and everyone at bpi.films is understandably proud to have welcomed His Royal Highness to our Sevenoaks site. “Thanks to his high-profile and his ability to gain access to the most senior decision makers, The Duke has already proved invaluable in furthering the interests of British businesses abroad. His visit today gave us the chance to share our experiences and to tell him more about our own unique operations.” - ENDS - IMAGES & CAPTIONS: HRH tours bpi.films.jpg His Royal Highness, The Duke of York tours bpi.films Sevenoaks accompanied by the plant’s Operations Director, Gary Buchalter.
