Bags of extra benefits

ForgeFix has revamped and relaunched its brand neutral range. With effect from the 1st July 2013, the distributor's entire range of F&F products - which are a popular choice with stockists who do not wish to reveal their sources of supply or who are keen to avoid stocking products that clash with their own brand identities - will enjoy a fresh new look and a new pack format.

Specifically, all products will now be offered in bags only - a move which will deliver numerous benefits, including fixed prices for the foreseeable future.

Mike Smith, Sales & Marketing Director at ForgeFix, explains: "ForgeFix has introduced bags across our full F&F range because it creates a win-win situation for everyone involved.

"Moving these products, which include fixings, fasteners, nuts, bolts and nails, to bag only formats rather than a mix of bags and boxes has enabled us to rationalise SKUs and increase stock availability, especially on some of our most popular lines.

"As the new pack formats are also more cost effective for us as business, we are also confident of being able to hold our prices into 2014 and potentially beyond - and at a time when many other suppliers are implementing price rises."

Further benefits to the F&F range include increased merchandising opportunities. As the bags benefit from Euro hook slots they can be stacked or hung on most POS units, including ForgeFix's own dedicated FixStations. Many stockists will actually find they can merchandise products they couldn't merchandise before.

The new F&F bags also offer increased buying flexibility. Outer box quantities will be available from ForgeFix but single bags of product will be available from key ForgeFix wholesale partners. Thanks to its use of bags, the new F&F range also helps to simplify stock counting, reduce theft and increase traceability compared to stocking loose product.

There are equally impressive environmental benefits too. Both the new F&F bags and their outer boxes are 100% recyclable, helping to reduce waste to landfill and to conserve resources.

As Mike Smith concludes: "There's a widely held belief that bagged fixings and fastenings are more expensive than loose product, arguably because of the many advantages to this pack format. In the case of our F&F range though, it's the same great product at the same great prices and all that's different is the packaging.

"We also took the decision to give the range a progressive new look at the same time in order to reflect the progressive benefits on offer."
