bpi.recycled products reveals RWM plans

With this year’s RWM exhibition rapidly approaching, bpi.recycled products has announced its plans for the annual resource and waste management event. The business - which ranks as Europe’s largest polythene recycler and a leading manufacturer of refuse and recycling sacks - will use the exhibition to promote its extensive recycling capabilities as well as its wide range of high performance waste management solutions.

In particular, visitors to the bpi.recycled products’ stand (Stand 19T34) will be able to learn more about the business’ ability to help customers to dispose of their polythene waste in a greener, more sustainable way.

Specifically, bpi.recycled products believes in recycling UK waste at its own network of Environment Agency approved, UK recycling facilities. This enables the business to offer a greener, lower carbon footprint alternative to most other large scale polythene recycling operations, which are typically based overseas in places such as China and often entail huge product miles.

bpi.recycled products can recycle an enormous variety of material from commercial, retail, industrial and agricultural sources. However, the business will be using RWM to highlight its current campaign to secure more transit packaging waste, such as pallet stretchfilm, pallet shrinkfilm and pallet stretchhoods, from the warehousing and distribution sector. This waste is then recycled and used to create a wide range of 'second life' products including outdoor furniture, building films and refuse and recycling sacks.

In addition, staff on the bpi.recycled products’ stand will also be promoting the business’ flagship Green Sack® range of ultra-green refuse sacks. Manufactured entirely from 100% recycled polythene waste, Green Sacks not only help to divert waste from landfill and conserve resources, but all of this material comes from UK sources and is recycled at UK facilities for a lower carbon footprint.

Most recently, the range has been extended to include new compostable sacks which offer users a hygienic, practical and sustainable means of collecting compostable waste. Suitable for disposal via both In Vessel Composting (IVC) and Anaerobic Digestion Units (AD), these sacks are ideally placed to help achieve new food waste reduction targets.

Commenting on bpi.recycled products plans for the event, Sian Miles, Environment & Materials Director at the business, said: “At bpi.recycled products, we’re committed to offering our customers recycling and waste management solutions that ultimately help to reduce their impact on the environment. We’re looking forward to demonstrating the extent of this commitment, our state-of-the-art recycling capabilities and our comprehensive product range at RWM 2012.”

The RWM exhibition takes place from 11-13th September 2012 at the NEC. For more information on the event, please visit http://www.rwmexhibition.com

Editor’s notes:

  • bpi.recycled products is the largest recycler of used polythene in Europe recycling over 68,000 tonnes of post-use polythene material from horticultural, commercial, retail, industrial and agricultural markets.
  • bpi.recycled products uses some of these materials to manufacture its award winning Plaswood range of sustainable wood-substitute products. These products include park and garden furniture, street and countryside signs, bollards and marine decking.
  • The environmental benefits of recycling plastic are becoming more widely recognised: maximising reusable material, diverting waste from landfill and conserving resources. bpi.recycled products has developed the necessary expertise and the infrastructure in the form of a network of Environment Agency accredited recycling plants to help drive these benefits forward.
  • bpi.recycled products is a division of BPI (British Polythene Industries) plc, one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of polythene films, bags and sacks.
