bpi.visqueen achieves BRC Grade B accreditation

Leading manufacturer of specialist polythene films, bpi.visqueen has been awarded BRC Grade B “High risk category” accreditation at its Flint site. The certification is a high merit for a packaging manufacturer within the BRC programme. This verifies the business’ focus on product quality and technical excellence in addition to factory hygiene.

A BRC Global Standard for food safety certification is regarded as a necessary requirement of a packaging manufacturer serving the food and pharmaceutical industries. The Flint site produces a wide range of hygiene-critical packaging products capable of meeting the demanding hygiene and quality control regulations of these sectors.

In order to achieve the Grade B accreditation, bpi.visqueen enhanced its skills base through investing into extra training for the workforce whilst further augmenting its quality control system. As such, each product is put through a rigorous testing and trial process in a specialist inspection area to ensure such bespoke packaging offers complete protection from contamination.

Despite the regular revision of the Standard to provide greater focus on the quality and functional aspects of packaging the Flint site has maintained BRC accreditation for the past 6 years in addition to the ISO 9001:2008 certification it already holds.

Speaking of the achievement Andy Williams, Site Manager at Flint, said: “The award of the BRC Grade B accreditation serves as an independent verification of our firm commitment to quality and of our understanding of the importance it has for our customers. It’s an achievement we are immensely proud of.”
