ForgeFix invests into new warehouse

To accommodate growing demand for its range of 3000+ products as well as facilitate opportunities for further diversification and expansion, ForgeFix has invested into an additional warehouse.

Located in Stockport, a stone’s throw from the distributor of fixings and fastenings' Whaley Bridge headquarters, the new warehouse offers some 30,000 sq ft of space and increases the business' overall footprint to 60,000 sq ft. It has also created five new jobs.

Commenting, Steve Smith, managing director at ForgeFix, said: “The acquisition of the new warehouse closely follows the addition of extra warehousing facilities at our Whaley Bridge site in March 2012. Both investments are indicative of our continuing success and expansion.

"Far from simply being good news for us as a business, these investments are good news for the growing and increasingly diverse range of customers we serve" he continues.

"We will now be able to offer increased stockholding and product availability on some of our bestselling lines. We'll also be able to expand our already extensive range of high performance, competitively priced products which includes everything from screws, nuts, nails and bolts to drill bits, ladders, hop up platforms and other hardware items."

It is understood that the new warehouse will also play a pivotal role in servicing the needs of a growing number of large, wholesale ForgeFix product distributors. This includes Toolbank whose parent company, Dormole Ltd, acquired ForgeFix in 2012.

This move has subsequently enabled ForgeFix to offer customers the best of both worlds - the flexibility, personable approach and responsiveness of an independent family run business but with the additional backing and resources of a far larger organisation.

As with ForgeFix's existing warehousing operations, advanced technology will be widely used at the new site. This will ensure the business can maintain an impressive track record for accurate order fulfilment and reliable next day delivery, anywhere on the UK mainland.

Concluding, Steve Smith adds: "As a distributor of fixings and fastenings, ForgeFix has always aimed to stand apart not just through the provision of innovative, high quality, good value products but also through the levels of service and support we offer our stockists.

"The new warehouse will add to that. It will enable us to meet the needs of a rapidly growing customer base whilst ensuring all stockists - from the smallest local hardware store to the largest national chain - has access to the products they need, whenever they need them."
