STAFF CLIMB MOUNTAINS FOR LOCAL CHILDREN’S CHARITY.
A team of plucky individuals from a Bromborough based business are set to climb mountains in aid of a local children’s charity. On Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of September, the group which consists of staff, friends and family members from bpi.films - a leading manufacturer of polythene packaging films located on the Croft Business Park – will tackle the National Three Peaks Challenge in a bid to raise money for Claire House Children’s Hospice.
A well known test of endurance, The National Three Peaks Challenge sees participants climbing the three highest peaks in the UK (Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike) over a period of between 24 and 48 hours. In total, those taking part walk some 42 kilometres (or 26 miles) consisting of both ascents and descents.
The bpi.films team plan to complete the challenge over 48 hours starting at 5am Saturday morning at Ben Nevis before finishing, having completing their final mountain, Snowdon, on early Sunday afternoon.
The group hopes to raise as much money as possible for Claire House which provides care for babies, children and young adults from across Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales, West Lancashire and the Isle of Man affected by life-limiting conditions. It provides specialist respite, palliative and terminal care as well as bereavement and family support for the entire family in a home from home environment.
The charity is one close to the bpi.films team’s heart and they already support its invaluable work through various other fund raising initiatives, including an annual Christmas raffle.
Speaking of the pending Three Peaks Challenge, David Beale, Site Director from bpi.films Bromborough said: “Everyone at bpi.films is behind the team tackling the Three Peaks Challenge every step of the way. We’re proud of them and of their dedication to such a noble and worthwhile cause. We wish them the very best of luck and hope they succeed in raising a great deal of money for an important local charity.”
Lynn Taylor, Wirral Area Fundraiser at Claire House added: “We are extremely grateful for all the enthusiasm from everyone at bpi.films and their sheer dedication to support the children at Claire House. We wish them the best of luck during the trek and cannot wait to continue working with them when they return.”
