BE A MAD HATTER TO HELP PEOPLE LIVING WITH CANCER Macmillan Cancer Relief, the UK's leading cancer care charity, is set to stir up a nation-wide hat frenzy this June with the launch of the UK's first ever Week of Hats. Organised in conjunction with the British Hat Guild, the Week takes place from Saturday 1 June to Sunday 9 June. So what's it all about? There are three ways that you can get involved: 1. Wear a Hat to Work Day Friday 7 June has been designated Wear a Hat to Work Day. Macmillan hopes companies and organisations across the UK will take part, with staff and directors making a suggested donation of £1.00 each for wearing a hat at work. To take part, contact Macmillan and ask for a Wear a Hat to Work Day Fundraising Pack *. 2. Hat Parties If you love wearing hats but never seem to have the opportunity, Macmillan will help you create the occasion and at the same time raise funds to support the charity's specialist cancer care services. Macmillan hopes people across the country will sign up for hat-wearing parties throughout the week - from Mad Hatter Tea Parties to Golden Jubilee Garden Parties. For help with organising a successful hat party, contact Macmillan Cancer Relief and ask for a Hat Party Fundraising Pack *. 3. Need a hat? If you've ever lusted after the fantastic millinery creations at Liberty, one of London's most stylish and historic stores, the Week of Hats is the time to indulge yourself and at the same time support Macmillan Cancer Relief. Liberty will donate 10% of all hat sales during the Week (1 - 9 June). A number of other milliners who are members of the British Hat Guild are also supporting Macmillan by giving 10% of all hat sales during the Week.
