The study combines expertise and research from BTexact with the results of a survey of network architects at leading global carriers. BTexact is now inviting suppliers to have their equipment evaluated against their customers' requirements. The study was developed in response to growing customer demand. It is widely recognised that sterile one-dimensional tests do not accurately reflect the demands placed upon routers in a carrier's network. This study identifies the performance requirements of a router to meet the stresses of a multi-protocol operational environment. In today's business environment, companies must evaluate technology, assess risk, test and deploy products and applications quickly and with minimum disruption.
