BUCKINGHAM PALACE IS "DELIGHTED" AS KINGSMILL MARKS THE JUBILEE WITH SPECIAL EDITION "QUEENSMILL" LOAVES Friday 3rd May 2002: Today, Kingsmill - Britain's biggest bread manufacturer and the seventh largest grocery brand in the UK - launches "Queensmill", a limited edition, crown-shaped loaf to honour the Queen's 50th year reign. "Queensmill" limited edition loaves are baked to a golden colour using a special tin that moulds the loaf into its authentic crown shape. Exclusive packaging boasting regal hues and the official Jubilee logo has been commissioned to accommodate the majestic loaves that will take centre stage on supermarket shelves for the next three months. Later today the first crown shaped loaf off the production line will be couriered to the Queen at Buckingham Palace. A Spokesperson for the Palace comments: "We are delighted to receive this special edition Queensmill loaf from Kingsmill. It is certainly a fun and innovative way to mark the Queen's Jubilee". Bart Dalla Mura, Commercial Director for Kingsmill said: "As a brand whose very name is synonymous with royalty, we simply couldn't let the Golden Jubilee go by without celebrating it in style. We wanted to commemorate the event and creating a special Jubilee loaf and naming it Queensmill is our way of marking the event in a way that only we can." The Queensmill loaf is available in three different varieties, Soft White, Malted and Wholemeal and will be available at supermarkets priced at around 69p throughout the UK from May 2002 for a limited time only. -Ends- Photography, video footage and samples available For further information please contact: Biss Lancaster Euro RSCG Michelle Parrish / Michele Newberry / Jane Forwood / Natalie Weedon Tel: 020 7497 3001 E mail : firstname.lastname@bisslancaster.com ------------------------------------------------------------ This information was brought to you by Waymaker http://www.waymaker.net The following files are available for download: http://www.waymaker.net/bitonline/2002/05/02/20020502BIT01610/wkr0001.doc http://www.waymaker.net/bitonline/2002/05/02/20020502BIT01610/wkr0002.pdf
