CHURCHILL DESIGNS IN-CAR BODY AND MIND FITNESS FORMULA TO RELIEVE ROAD TENSION AT EASTER Easter weekend is the first major car trip of the year and the roads will be packed with over 15 million motorists on a mission*. With the traditional overload on our roads, stress and tension will be rife as the traffic inevitably tails back for miles. With this in mind, Churchill, the UK's third biggest car insurer has teamed up with 'emotional fitness' broadcaster, Mo Shapiro to give some great tips on exercises to relieve stress in the car. The five body and mind techniques are safe and easy to follow whilst inside a stationary car - both for drivers and passengers. Mo Shapiro said: "There is nothing more stressful than being stuck in traffic for long periods when you are meant to be on holiday. For all drivers, especially families, this can cause tension and restlessness in the car. These exercises help to de-stress the body and relax the mind." She added: "Drivers should think about this time as wind-down time, preparing them for the holiday ahead. There are some things in life that we can't change and getting agitated doesn't help." The five exercises are: - § The Lion's roar - make a face like a lion roaring, stretching your mouth, cheeks, nose and eyes. Whilst doing this, stick your tongue out but in nobody's particular direction! § The nodding dog - slowly roll your head around your shoulders. Then shrug your shoulders before creating circles with them. § White knuckle grip - tighten and release your fingers around the steering wheel § Road Fables - create stories about the people in the cars around you. Each passenger must take a sentence each in creating the tale § Snail trail sing along - pick a sing along tape to for all to join in with More... Churchill PR Manager, Greg Dawson said: "We have over three million car drivers with us at Churchill and we know that stress and tiredness is a major factor in road accidents. Of course regular breaks and comprehensive journey planning are essential but whilst stationery in the car, these exercises are very valuable."
