Corbis® Hires David Harrigan as Director of Commercial Photography, Europe Appointment signals Corbis' commitment to expansion of commercial photography for European markets (London and Seattle, April 17) - Corbis®, (www.corbis.com) the world's largest provider of digital images under a single brand, today announces the appointment of David Harrigan as Director of Commercial Photography, Europe. Based at Corbis' new UK headquarters in Queen's Park, London, Harrigan is responsible for ensuring that Corbis offers commercial photography that encompasses European trends and styles for the UK, European and other global markets. In this pivotal new role at Corbis, Harrigan will help the company enhance its commercial editing, production and sourcing activities to better meet the needs of its European-based customers, as well as those around the globe seeking European themed photography. Harrigan's appointment is key to Corbis further developing its strategy to build a commercial collection that delivers visually rich and market- relevant images to creative professionals around the globe. Corbis Hires Harrigan Release In his new job at Corbis, Harrigan is specifically tasked with supervising Corbis' European commercial editing teams, directing commercial production in Europe, sourcing appropriate European commercial talent and archives, representing Corbis' commercial offering to the industry and other administrative duties. Harrigan, 36, previously served as Head of Art at Getty Images. Prior to that, his extensive experience includes art direction, photo-editing, website production and editing in the photography and online industries, as well as writing and editing within the fashion industry at publications including Attitude, Sunday Times and The London Magazine. Commenting on his appointment, Harrigan said, "I am already relishing this new challenge and thrilled to be with Corbis as it enters such a momentous time." Harrigan's hire is the latest move Corbis has undertaken to enhance and expand its presence across Europe. Earlier this month Corbis consolidated its UK office for all operations including news and commercial imagery.
