Dmatek Enters a $2 million Deal for Telehomecare Systems Huntleigh Technology PLC to distribute the systems in the UK Dmatek Ltd., the London listed provider of leading electronic monitoring technologies, today announces the signing of a distribution agreement with Huntleigh Healthcare, a division of Huntleigh Technology PLC (LSE: HTL), to supply the company's Dementia patients monitoring systems in the UK. The contract, signed by HomeFree Systems, the company's wholly owned subsidiary, takes effect immediately and is expected to generate a minimum revenues of $2 million by the end of 2004. HomeFree Systems operates in the emerging Telehomecare market and current product line includes individual and group monitoring solutions for Dementia patients in long term care facilities and at home. Huntleigh Healthcare will distribute, install and service the systems throughout the UK. A spokesman from Huntleigh Healthcare said, "This project is an exciting part of the future for the company and complements our existing range of products which are a boon to people who are being cared for at home." HomeFree Systems were successfully tested at Charing Cross Hospital's Geriatric ward. The trial was led by Dr. Frank Miskelly, Consultant Physician at the hospital and Chairman of the New Technology Section of the British Geriatrics Society. In conjunction with Ealing and Hammersmith & Fulham Social Services he is soon to commence a large study in West London using the equipment with elderly people living in local residential homes and at home in the community. Dr. Miskelly further advises that numerous groups working with confused older people have expressed considerable interest in the research. The UK Alzheimer's society reports some 700,000 dementia patients in the UK. According to Health Policy Review, published by the University of London, the annual cost of Alzheimer's disease in the UK is some £5.5bn annually. Monitoring solutions could reduce the cost of care substantially and make it easier for more patients to be cared for in the community. Dmatek CEO, Yoav Reisman commented: "We are happy to embark this new alliance with Huntleigh and deliver HomeFree's Telehomecare systems in the UK. We believe that Huntleigh demonstrated experience and proficiency in the medical market will help to promote HomeFree's products as a leading solution for Dementia patients and their caregivers in the UK market."
