DREAMMAKERS SEEKS SUPPORT FOR 2002 CHARITY BALL A chance to see the last ever episode of 'Friends' being filmed in Los Angeles is one of the star auction prizes at this year's DreamMakers charity ball, to be held at the Castle Hotel in Windsor on 12 October 2002. Last year DreamMakers raised £55,000, enough to send 36 children on the Dreamflight to Disneyworld in Florida. Every year, nearly 200 children facing difficult physical or medical challenges take the trip, and enjoy an experience they never forget. Their families also get a much-needed break from caring for them. The organisers are now appealing to local organisations to offer their support again. DreamMakers is again aiming high, as the cost of sending each child has risen to £2,000. Over 300 people are expected to attend this year's event, which is supported by two local celebrities - Clive Tyldesley, the ITV football commentator, and Lorraine Kelly, presenter of LK Live - and a group of friends and local business people. Last year's ball was so successful that this year's is already a sell-out. The ball will again feature a live auction, with a silent auction and a Tree of Dreams, and will be rounded off with games and dancing. m.f. DREAMMAKERS SEEKS SUPPORT FOR 2002 CHARITY BALL /2... Last year over 130 individuals, local companies and national companies* either donated items for the Ball, provided sponsorship or gave their time for free. The organisers hope that even more people will be willing to help this year. For £2,000, companies can sponsor a table and raise enough money to send one child on the Dreamflight. Information about sponsoring a table, making a donation or undertaking any other corporate charity activity for DreamMakers, can be obtained from Pauline Tyldesley on 01628 660515 or by visiting the website at www.dreammakers-uk.org.uk. The Tyldesleys founded DreamMakers in 2000, having seen the extraordinary work of the UK charity Dreamflight. They wanted to set up an organisation in Maidenhead dedicated to supporting it. More information about DreamMakers can be found at www.dreammakers-uk.org.uk. Clive and Pauline can be contacted at info@dreammakers-uk.org.uk.
