"IT'S BOND... JAMES BOND" AT THE MTV PARTY IN CANNES MTV and MGM collaborate in at the Cannes Film Festival to celebrate James Bond 40th Anniversary Party London 2nd April 2002: This year's most sought-after party ticket at the Cannes Film Festival will be for the ultra-glamorous MTV and MGM party, celebrating the 40th anniversary of James Bond. On Saturday 18th May, twelve hundred of Europe's movie glitterati will be invited to party in Pierre Cardin's private villa, Le Palais Bulles (Bubble Palace). The venue boasts some of the most stunning and dramatic views across the Cote d'Azur, providing the perfect setting for 007's coming of age celebration. The exclusive party - sponsored by Tiscali - will feature the Aston Martin Vanquish, Jaguar XKR and Range Rover cars from the 20th James Bond Film 'Die Another Day', currently in production at Pinewood Studios. The cars will be flown in to Cannes especially for the party. Guests will be able to drink vodka martinis - 'shaken, not stirred' - at an intricate vodka ice bar set in a special Bond-style casino. Partygoers will be able to gamble away their fortunes amongst exotic ice sculptures in Le Palais Bulles' intricate labyrinth of interconnected bubble shaped rooms, secret pools, curved passageways and secluded seating areas. The MTV MGM Cannes party will see veteran soul pioneers Soul II Soul play a dynamic set to the hand-picked guests. DJ Christopher McCullough will also deliver a blistering set to keep the aristocracy of the movie world dancing late into the night. The MTV Movies Team will be capturing all the action from the sensational 55th Cannes Film Festival (15th - 26th May), taking in all the action on and off the Croisette and capturing the biggest names of the movie world as they schmooze their way through the festival. The MTV Cannes Movie Special, will premiere on MTV UK on Friday 31st May at 7pm and will take a special in-depth look at all the hottest movie action from the festival.
