JOIN THE LEGION'S BIKE TO BRUSSELS AND SUPPORT EX-SERVICE PEOPLE - 6 TO 9 JUNE 2002 Didn't get a place on the marathon? Then don't despair - The Royal British Legion has an even better challenge for you where the fun, the cameraderie, and the joy of unwinding with a cold beer after healthy exercise lasts more than just a day's run. Bike to Brussels is one of Britain's best charity bike rides and we've got a place for you! For the fourth year 100 cyclists will be pedalling from Dulwich in South London towards a spectacular finish at the Parc de Cinquantenaire in the heart of Brussels. With 225 miles of French and Belgian countryside to enjoy over three days, Bike to Brussels is a ride on which both casual and club-standard cyclists can find a comfortable pace. A highlight of the trip is a sunset Last Post ceremony at the famous Menin Gate in Ypres. All we ask is that you commit to raising at least £400 and pay £330 up front to cover all your travel, accommodation, technical support and insurance - an absolute bargain! You'll be well-looked after by Legion staff and mechanics at all times, and you'll have the satisfaction of a great personal achievement as you support the UK's leading ex-Service charity. All funds raised will go towards the £43million the Legion spends each year supporting some 15million ex-Service people, and their families, on a wide range of resettlement and welfare issues. Many cyclists return year after year and places fill up fast, so don't delay in securing your place. Contact Nick Hanmer on 020 7973 7285 or nhanmer@britishlegion.org.uk for further details.
