MICHAEL OWEN'S JAGUAR COULD BE YOURS... FOR JUST £1! The Jaguar Enthusiasts Club is offering members of the public the unique opportunity to become the owner of Michael Owen's X-Type 2.5 Litre Sport Jaguar. The car will be the prize in a national raffle being run to help raise money for The Willow Foundation, which organises and funds special days out for seriously ill young adults aged 16 to 40. Tickets cost just £1 and will be available from 13/03/03 at www.jec.org.uk or by calling 0870 242 1232. The prize will be drawn on November 9th at the International Classic Car Show in the NEC, Birmingham. There will be a photo call at 10am on Thursday 13th March to officially launch the raffle. The stunning BBC TV am news presenter and Willow Foundation patron Natasha Kaplinsky, and the charity founders, TV presenter and Arsenal goalkeeper, Bob Wilson, and his wife Megs, will be together with the car at The Hippodrome in Leicester Square. The Jaguar was manufactured specially for the Liverpool centre forward, and features a special turned alloy gear knob in the shape of a football. The car is painted Phoenix Red and has an Ivory leather interior with contrast stitching. Michael Owen has signed the rear screen of the car and his signature is also laser etched into the veneer of the dashboard. The driving force behind the raffle, the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club, has over 20,000 members and operates from a network that includes 50 regional groups in the UK and 17 overseas centres in countries as far afield as Czech Republic, South Africa and Japan. Its popularity is such that it is now the World's largest Jaguar Club and the second biggest single marque car club. Half of the money raised will be donated to The Willow Foundation, founded by Bob Wilson, the ex-Arsenal and Scotland goalkeeper and his wife, Megs, following the death of their daughter Anna Carey, at the age of 31. She died from a rare form of cancer. "We are delighted that the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club have decided to support the Willow Foundation. Their support will be invaluable in helping us improve the quality of life of young adults living with life- threatening illness. The provision of 'special days' allows these young people to enjoy time with friends and family away from the routine of illness and treatment and provides treasured memories for the future..." Bob Wilson The special days give people with serious illnesses the opportunity to do something they've always dreamt of. Whether it's a day in a spa, a ride in a hot air balloon or driving a Ferrari, the Foundation organises and funds everything - transport, activity, meals - making the whole day as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. Funds are essential so that the Willow Foundation can fulfill its ultimate aim to provide a special day for every seriously ill young adult in the UK. There will be opportunities to see Michael Owen's car at Jaguar Enthusiast Club Events across the country, between April and October. The car has less than 1000 miles on the clock and in order to keep it 'as new' it will be transported from show to show. Call now to make your personal dream come true too!
