PKF EXPANDS SOUTH WEST CORPORATE RECOVERY BUSINESS 24 April 2003: PKF, accountants and business advisors, is boosting its Bristol-based South West corporate recovery team with two major appointments. Ken Chalk will head the expanded South West team and Shaun Hyland will join as senior manager. Ken brings to the role more than 25 years of experience in all aspects of corporate recovery and turnaround. He has been a partner with major international accountancy firms for 25 years and is no stranger to Bristol having spent 13 years as a partner in the Bristol office of Andersen and its predecessor firm. Ken, who lives in the Clifton area of the city, has also worked in Australia, Manchester and, more recently, in the Thames Valley. Shaun formerly worked with Ken in the Thames Valley and joins from a competitor firm. He has specialised in corporate recovery for eight years including an 18 month secondment with a leading clearing bank. Shaun, who lives in Wiltshire, also spent five years in senior financial positions with two local companies where he specialised in business change. Brian Hamblin, PKF's regional managing partner, said: "This represents a significant investment in our South West and Wales business at a time when the local and national economy is likely to go through a period of uncertainty over the coming months. We are delighted to welcome Ken and Shaun to the firm, especially as they have worked as a successful team in the past. They bring with them not only extensive expertise but also strong local knowledge and contacts." Ken said: "It is great to be back in practice in Bristol and I look forward to working again with the business and professional community in the South West and the M4 corridor."
