smile AND GREEN FLAG COME TO THE RESCUE smile, the Internet bank, today (26 November) announced the launch of smile rescue, a deal with Green Flag Motoring Assistance which will give its customers savings of more than 40 per cent* on roadside assistance. smile account holders can choose from three levels of cover, all at discounted prices if they buy motoring assistance from Green Flag via the smile website. And if customers pay with their smile credit card, before 31 January, 2003, they will get an extra 4.5 per cent cashback on top of the usual 0.5 per cent they get on all purchases. Mechanical assistance at home and the roadside, usually priced at £80*, costs £46. Protection against breakdowns at home, roadside assistance and nationwide recovery is £78 instead of £119 and the highest level of cover with all benefits plus European motoring assistance is down from the normal £152 to £87. Research shows that more than 50 per cent** of all breakdowns occur at home and so the service from smile and Green Flag includes mechanical assistance at the home as standard. smile customers currently with other breakdown service providers can register their details and receive a reminder of the Green Flag offer nearer the time their existing cover is due for renewal. Motorists taking up this service will be entered into a prize draw with the chance to win £500.
