SMOOTH OPERATOR · New half sheet finishing sander · Minimal vibration from powerful 330w motor · Ergonomic design for comfort and control Makita has launched a new generation of half sheet finishing orbital sanders. The new BO4900 with a powerful 330w motor is available with either constant speed (10,000 OPM) or variable speed (4,000 - 10,000 OPM) control to deliver superb near vibration free performance. Extra efficient through-the-pad dust removal increases the performance by rapidly clearing the work area and it helps to extend the life of the abrasive paper. The machines come supplied with their own disposable paper dust bags. The BO4900 also connects to 28mm vacuum extraction hose without any additional attachment. Vibration is kept in check by a number of superior features usually found on more expensive products; dual bearings on the motor spindle and keyed counterbalance. Further refinements include an encased fan that minimise the effect of air turbulence on the spindle and promotes fast removal of debris into the dust collection. The base is assembled on four metal corner posts with eight '0' ring dampers, instead of rubber pillars, to provide extra stiffness and removing one of the major causes of vibration. The BO4900 finishing sanders can use either standard pre cut half sheet or hook and loop abrasive papers. The machine's standard base plate has a large clamping level for quick and easy changing of abrasive paper. More...An optional punch plate is available for creating the holes in abrasive paper for use with dust extraction. The BO4900 can also use pre- cut abrasive papers from all the leading suppliers as well as Makita's own range of abrasive paper. The 2.8Kg machine benefits from ergonomically designed soft grip handles that makes sure the BO4900 fits the palm of the hand perfectly for easy control and comfort. The unit is double insulated for greater safety. The BO4900 and BO4900V are available now and can be purchased for around £150 and £165 respectively. - ENDS - About Makita Makita is a leading brand of power tools and accessories known for quality, performance and durability during rigorous industrial applications.
