TOAST THE QUEEN ON THE LARGEST EVER FLOATING STREET PARTY* P&O Cruises aims to enter the Guinness Book of World Records by holding the Largest Ever Floating Street Party* on board Oriana which was named by The Queen in 1995. Thanks to the cruise company, Brits at sea will share in the Golden Jubilee party atmosphere that so many will enjoy back in Blighty this weekend. Almost six thousand British passengers will be away with P&O Cruises for the Golden Jubilee weekend, but the cruise company has made sure the celebrations will mirror Britain by holding street-style parties on all their ships' promenade decks. Bunting, Union Jack flags and general merriment for all ages will prove that passengers do not have to be at home to celebrate. The open seas will be a perfect backdrop for a memorable party. Golden Jubilee cocktail parties will also take place and in a competition held for its bar staff, P&O Cruises has created the ultimate cocktail to toast the Queen called 'Her Majesty'. The concoction of Malibu, Van der Hum, Cherry Brandy, pineapple and orange juices will be available throughout the weekend. The creator, Phil Stacey, from Oriana, guarantees that passengers will enjoy his golden-coloured winner, "My secret ingredient is the Van der Hum which gives 'Her Majesty' a long, summer taste that passengers are sure to enjoy." Passengers will also be invited to a celebratory church service, the Elizabeth II syndicate quiz and showings of the film "HM The Queen - A Remarkable Life." The evening will begin with a special supper menu, followed by dancing to a live band at the formal Golden Jubilee ball. To mark this special occasion, all passengers and crew across the fleet will receive a limited edition P&O Cruises Golden Jubilee commemorative spoon, incorporating the official Queen's Golden Jubilee crest.
