Security and Future of Electronic Identification

Stockholm, Lisbon and Athens – September 13, 2010 - PrimeKey, the leading open source Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) company, Multicert, the leading Portuguese company in electronic identification and electronic communication/transaction security, and Byte, a leading Greek Information Technology and Communications (ICT) Integrator, organize a follow-up two day conference on national eID cards and ePassport solutions and its usage around the world.
The conference brings together over 200 national and international experts - representatives of government bodies, enterprises, public institutions and banking - on 21st and 22nd October in Divani Caravel Hotel in Athens, Greece.
Similar to last year’s conference, the motto of the first day will be security, privacy and data usage regarding electronic identification cards, the convergence / divergence of identification documents and the future of digital identity in Europe and cross the globe: In addition to the spotlight given to National eID, this year we are introducing a new theme: Mobile PKI.
The second day is dedicated to electronic passports, with the approach of "electronic border" on the management of national and international border procedures, pros and cons of the two generations of electronic passports and future developments. Also, this year we have added round table sessions for TrustCenters in the afternoon.
The National eID & ePassport Conference (www.eid-epass.org) aims to promote discussion about the key elements behind the digitalization of identification documents, analyzing its usage beyond the initial purpose and its global utilization.
