The Citizen eID Global Forum
With the support from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and under the patronage from Mrs. Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission, the third edition of the National eId & ePassport already promises to be a success.
Stockholm, Lisbon, Istanbul, Athens – September 21, 2011 – The National eID & ePassport Conference (www.eid-epass.org) is the new Global Forum on the drivers behind the digitalization of citizen ID documents. With the support of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and under the patronage of Mrs. Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for the Digital Agenda, this global forum on electronic identification gathers 60 speakers and 300 experts, key industrial as well as top-level governmental representatives from over 40 countries.
The agenda includes high profile keynotes, case-oriented panel sessions, energetic networking and integrated exhibition. On the 2011 edition, the conference will continue to focus on the most recent developments and the major international political initiatives in the field of the electronic identification and authentication (eID), in its various aspects. The national eID, travel documents, KMS, identity/privacy, border control, interoperability, practical experiences in different countries, research, implementation, standards, legislation and technology are some of the topics covered.
After the success of the two first editions, the hosts PrimeKey Solutions, the world leading open source Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) company, and MULTICERT, the leading Portuguese company in electronic identification and electronic communication and transaction security, together with their local partner Proline, the leading ICT company in Turkey, and Nerd, the leading IT & New Media company in Greece, are organizing the 2011 edition in Istanbul on the 24th and 25th October.
