GMA Architects & Planners design Discovery Village at The Forum

GMA Architects & Planners (GMA) has completed the design for Discovery Village at The Forum. The Forum is located in Fort Myers near the intersection of Colonial Boulevard and I-75. Discovery Village had their groundbreaking ceremony on Oct. 3 and is starting construction.

The new Discovery Village building, which is scheduled to be completed in fall 2013, is designed to house services for assisted living, independent living and Alzheimer’s care. The Mediterranean-style building features two atriums for natural light, a three-story independent living facility, a two-story assisted living area and a one-story Alzheimer’s care wing.

Dan McGahey of GMA is the principal in charge; Rick McCormack is the project manager; and DeAngelis Diamond Construction is the general contractor.
