What are the advantages of incorporating a small business? What are the legal considerations for woman-owned businesses? How is a sole proprietor taxed? Pavese Law Firm partner Alison C. Hussey and tax partner Joni Norton, CPA with Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Company, P.A. will provide female business owners and entrepreneurs with answers to these and other questions during the Women Business Education Series on Oct. 3 from 8 to 10 a.m. in the FGCU Margaret S. Sugden Welcome Center at 10501 FGCU Boulevard South in Fort Myers. The presentation will address the steps that female business owners and entrepreneurs should consider when setting up a business legal structure, as well as the tax implications associated with the various business types including corporations, limited liability companies (LLC) and sole proprietorships.
The five-part Women Business Education Series is hosted by Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Company, P.A., in conjunction with the Small Business Development Center at Florida Gulf Coast University. The series will be held on Wednesdays from 8 to 10 a.m. beginning Oct. 3 and continues through Oct. 31. Registration is $100 for the series or $25 for each program. Proceeds will be donated to Florida Gulf Coast University to benefit the Small Business Development Center, which provides no cost confidential business consulting and education to entrepreneurs and businesses.
