Take a HabiTour and witness the impact of Habitat homeownership

To provide the public with a glimpse into the lives impacted by Humanity of Collier County, Habitat is leading neighborhood tours on Jan. 24, Feb. 15 and March 6. Attendees are invited to gather at the Habitat for Humanity office at 11145 Tamiami Trail East in Naples at 9 a.m. for a continental breakfast followed by a two-hour guided tour.

During the tour, guests will witness the untenable living conditions of many families in Collier County. The tour includes a stop at a construction site where Habitat team members are working on rehabbing foreclosed (non-Habitat) homes in Naples Manor. Following a visit to a completed Habitat neighborhood, the event culminates with a home tour led by a Habitat family where guests will witness the difference that owning a Habitat home is making in the lives of others. During the HabiTour, attendees will meet Habitat staff, volunteers and others interested in getting involved with Habitat for Humanity of Collier County.

Habitat for Humanity of Collier County is the largest affiliate of the international organization as well as one of the oldest and will mark its 35thanniversary in 2013. Through Habitat’s unique partnership approach, families are given the opportunity to become part of the solution, receiving not a temporary hand-out but instead a life-changing hand-up.
