Revolutionary wheel balancer receives first award
A revolutionary wheel balancer that can provide workshops with a significant new wheel servicing opportunity has claimed its first accolade, even before its official UK launch next month. The new Hunter Road Force ‘Touch’ balancer, whose unique features allow it to measure Road Force Variation and Load Force Measurement, has been awarded the prestigious Innovation award at this year’s Automechanika show.
Exclusively available in the UK through Pro-Align, the Hunter Road Force Touch is set to transform wheel balancing. With its ability to eradicate even the most difficult wheel vibration and ride quality issues, workshops will be able to provide a valuable service to customers that simply is not possible with a standard wheel balancer.
“The latest evolution of the Road Force Balancer now features an intuitive touch screen interface making operation extremely simple and easy to use,” explains Paul Beaurain, managing director, Pro-Align. “Indeed, such is the speed of the new system that it can carry out the extra measurements allowing the additional service opportunity in the same amount of time as a standard, conventional balancer. The Hunter Road Force Balancer applies a load roller to the wheel and tyre assembly, effectively taking it on a road test, to identify stiff spots in the tyre. Having also previously identified any low spots on the wheel rim, the position of the tyre on the rim can be turned to match these two points, minimising any vibration issues. However, without this key diagnostic tool, technicians simply have no way of knowing the best wheel and tyre position combination.
