E-learning contract for 300 000 students
E-LEARNING CONTRACT FOR 300 000 STUDENTS The largest single e-learning order in Sweden to date, a standing contract to supply systems for online learning, has been won by Prohunt AB. The contract, which runs for three years, is worth around SEK 3 million in licence fees and was won in competition with three much larger, publicly quoted companies: Enlight, M2S and Luvit. 17 of Sweden's universities and colleges, with over 300 000 students between them, will now enjoy access to online learning facilities. E-learning, a form of interactive education, is now making an impact in the state sector too. The objective is to provide the universities and colleges covered by the contract with an efficient, well-functioning platform for administering and delivering various courses. Prohunt's e- learning system is becoming a de facto standard for the university sector - an important breakthrough in the light of the company's commitment to Scandinavia as its domestic market, and a recognition of the company's knowledge and experience in the field of e-learning. Prohunt also has an agreement with Kalmar University College to provide e- learning courses such as the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) that form part of the student's curriculum and count towards a degree. Last month, Prohunt announced several similar contracts from clients in the public sector, including ECDL courses for over 7 000 people employed by local and regional authorities. The latest contract covers the universities and/or colleges in Dalarna, Gotland, Gävle/Sandviken, Linköping, Luleå, Lund, Sundsvall, Mälardalen, Södertörn, Umeå, Uppsala and Örebro, plus the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University and College of Education, and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Prohunt is Scandinavia's leading supplier of package solutions for developing and managing skills, career and resource planning within organisations. Through a web-based software suite, specialist methods and consultancy services in Intellectual Capital Management, Prohunt has devised a unique means for businesses to attract, develop, retain and assess employees and their skills. Prohunt currently employs 115 people at five locations in Sweden and Norway. In spring 2000, the business was expanded and strengthened through mergers with Comenius and New Start. The company's shareholders are its founders and staff, IT Provider and Ledstiernan. Current clients include leading companies such as AstraZeneca, Cell Network, Ericsson, FöreningsSparbanken, Hydro, IKEA, MeritaNordbanken, Statoil, Swedish Match and Telia. ------------------------------------------------------------ This information was brought to you by BIT http://www.bit.se The following files are available for download: http://www.bit.se/bitonline/2000/10/23/20001121BIT01080/bit0001.doc http://www.bit.se/bitonline/2000/10/23/20001121BIT01080/bit0002.pdf
