Allison Transmission presents fully automatic concrete mixer by MAN and Liebherr
SÃO PAULO – Allison Transmission displayed a MAN Constellation 26.280 6x4 equipped with a 3000 Series™ fully automatic transmission and a Liebherr Brasil concrete mixer body during the 9th annual Concrete Show South America at the São Paulo Expo (August 26th-28th 2015).
Attendees were able to see the truck, developed in partnership with MAN Latin America and Liebherr Brasil, displayed on the Liebherr Brasil stand. Like Allison, Liebherr and MAN are leading global manufacturers capable to develop customised solutions according to customer specifications.
"The collaboration between Allison Transmission, MAN Latin America and Liebherr Brasil has resulted in a concrete mixer truck that will exceed fleet owners' expectations," said Antonio Carlos Novaes, Allison Transmission's marketing manager for South America. "The market will welcome this rugged, agile vehicle, qualities that help increase productivity and profitability, leading factors in a company’s bottom line.”
The Concrete Show South America is known as one of the world's most important civil construction events. According to event organisers, it is the largest in Latin America and the second largest in the world. Attendees have the opportunity to see the complete range of solutions geared toward the sector, from earthmoving to construction sites, as well as displays for structural projects, advanced technologies for the concrete production chain, services and finishing – all aiming to optimise construction productivity and costs.
As concrete transport is an extremely wearing activity, typically involving severe duty cycles and challenging environments, fleet owners worldwide are opting for Allison fully automatic transmissions as standard equipment. Automatic-equipped concrete mixers accelerate faster than those with manual or automated manual transmissions and sustain higher average speeds, resulting in faster trips, higher productivity and, ultimately, increased profitability.
Automatic mixers also offer better manoeuvring on difficult terrain, including slick, soft and uneven surfaces – common work-site environments. With Allison's Continuous Power Technology™, smooth, seamless shifts provide uninterrupted power and torque from the engine to the driving wheels for outstanding efficiency.
Concrete mixers fitted with automatic transmissions are also easier to operate in tight spaces deliver reliable launch and control capabilities, even on steep grades, preventing vehicle rollback. Eliminating the manual clutch system results in substantially less vehicle and drivetrain wear. The result is lower maintenance cost and increased vehicle downtime. Those advantages, in combination with fuel efficiency and ease of operation, explain why more fleet owners are choosing Allison-equipped concrete mixers.
