With Continuous Power Technology™, Allison Automatics deliver superior acceleration for greater productivity

HANNOVER, Germany – Attendees of IAA 2016 can learn about the many benefits of Allison transmissions at the company’s two-story booth (FG P90, FG P86), Sept. 22-29.

Allison Transmission is the world’s largest manufacturer of fully automatic transmissions for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles and is a leader in hybrid-propulsion systems for city buses. Its transmissions are used in a variety of commercial vehicle applications including refuse, construction, fire, distribution, bus, motorhomes, defense and energy.

With patented Continuous Power Technology™, Allison transmissions use a torque converter to deliver smooth, seamless, full-power shifts, and superior acceleration. Each shift is made automatically when appropriate, allowing drivers to precisely manage performance and exercise superior vehicle control. Unlike a manual or automated manual transmission (AMT) that loses power with every shift, Allison Automatics eliminate power interrupts for greater productivity – even with a smaller engine.

When it comes to fuel economy, Allison’s newest products include FuelSense®and xFE technologies. FuelSense is the next generation in fuel-savings technology which utilizes a unique set of software and electronic controls to improve fuel economy up to 20 percent.

For city and transit buses, xFE technology can improve fuel economy up to seven percent. With xFE, the transmission is designed specifically for the constant shifting and lower average speeds for these duty cycles. This allows buses to run longer where they are most efficient.
