Installation time and expense are reduced by Viessmann’s new range of domestic gas-fired boilers
19 metre maximum flue length and matched output for hot water and heating make the Vitodens 100-W WB1C ideal for British homes.
Viessmann has launched a new range of Vitodens 100-W gas fired condensing boilers. The system and combination boilers can be installed in a greater number of locations around the home due to a maximum flue length of 19 metres (19 kW model), making them ideally suited for social housing projects and homes where available space is at a premium. Uniquely, the output is the same for heating and hot water, from 19 to 35 kW, meeting consumer demand for high performance and installer demand for matching heat output to building heat load requirements. Viessmann increases its popular Vitodens 100-W range with the addition of a 19 kW output system boiler.
Time and money saved
Installations of the Vitodens 100-W are faster, simpler and more cost-effective as pressure relief valves (PRV) and condense connections are combined, and long runs of additional piping are no longer required. Also, when installed together with a Vitocell 200 or 300 unvented cylinder, the Vitodens 100-W meets G3 building regulations without the need for an energy cut-off valve and cylinder overheat thermostat, as these are built into the boiler. Additionally to the component cost savings this can in turn save up to a further £200 as Part P qualified electricians, are no longer required.
Viessmann has also made the full Vitodens 100-W combination and system boilers smaller, with a depth of only 350 mm and height of 700 mm on the largest 35 kW model, and reduced its weight by up to 4 kg by using a new case design. Subsequently, service accessibility is improved and the unit is one of the quietest gas fired wall hung boilers in this product group at less than 40 dB(A) maximum (35 kW).
Improved efficiency and reduced maintenance
Viessmann’s Inox-Radial heat exchanger enables the Vitodens 100-W to achieve a standard seasonal efficiency of up to 90.4 per cent. Its stainless steel heating surface is designed specifically for condensing technology, allowing condensate to simply run off downwards creating a permanent self-cleaning effect and resulting in a longer service life whilst reducing maintenance effort. The German made heat exchanger comes with a ten year warranty.
In combination with the Inox-Radial heat exchanger, Viessmann’s MatriX cylinder burner ensures high-energy efficiency and long-term heating convenience. By using thousands of tiny flames instead of one large flame, the MatriX cylinder burner distributes heat cleanly and efficiently and the stainless steel MatriX mesh ensures long term reliability. Low emission combustion also makes the burner environmentally-friendly, its extremely low NOx and CO emissions meeting all international clean air regulations and guidelines.
The AquaBloc contains a Grundfos pump and combines all the hydraulic components in the Vitodens 100-W into one compact unit as part of the drive train. All serviceable parts are easily accessible from the front of the boiler, reducing servicing time and cost for installers.
Wireless control and weather compensation
The Vitodens 100-W features a user control interface with LCD screen and digital plug-in controls so end users can adjust settings wirelessly with a single Vitotrol 100 controller. The boiler is supplied with a control unit, featuring a built-in diagnostics system and frost protection. When connected to an outdoor temperature sensor the unit switches automatically to the weather compensation mode and offers potential additional gas savings for the end user of up to 12 percent, the equivalent of over £88 per year. Dials are easy to operate and enable fast adjustment of the heating and DHW temperature.
Graham Russell, managing director at Viessmann UK says, “As one of the leading international providers of heating systems, the UK market is very important to Viessmann. Installers have already demonstrated their support of the previous 100-W WB1B range, and many have commented how receptive customers are to the products.”
“This new generation takes a highly successful platform and improves on it with tried and tested components, as well as providing the additional, unique features that add real value to installers.”
