Lamborghini selects HARMAN for Huracan infotainment system

HARMAN continues to deliver premium infotainment systems to Lamborghini.

GENEVA – March 4, 2014 – HARMAN, the premium global audio and infotainment group (NYSE:HAR), will continuing the company´s partnership with the iconic Lamborghini brand by providing infotainment systems to the brand-new Huracan, The new system will deliver uncompromising performance, offering an array of features such as 3D navigation together with advanced connectivity.

The infotainment system by HARMAN is designed for uncompromising excellence. The 60 GB hard disk-based GPS navigation system generates highly realistic 3D views of cityscapes and landscapes, also retrieving data from Google® Earth and Google® Street View. Landmark destinations – such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris - are shown in photorealistic style for an even more dynamic navigation experience. A 7-inch 16:9 TFT color display delivers vehicle and infotainment details to the driver, as well as providing excellent navigational views.

Entertainment connectivity is among the best on offer. Vehicle occupants can connect wirelessly to the Internet, and access their favorite web applications – anything from weather apps to Google search. It is equally possible to hook up a smartphone via the Bluetooth® interface, which provides direct access to favorite phone apps. The system features a radio with 3-RDS Scan Diversity Tuner technology, HD radio, as well as digital radio support for 2-DAB+ (in Europe) and SDARS Digital Satellite Radio (in the USA and Canada). Those who prefer disk-based sources will appreciate the integrated CD/DVD player and optional 6-disk jukebox for DVD video and audio playback. Alternatively, drivers can play music from SD or MMC card via the integrated SD slot, or plug in a USB stick or audio player and play music through an external device. The hard disk itself can store up to 20 GB of music – enough to keep vehicle occupants entertained as their new Lamborghini Huracan eats up the miles.
