Viessmann acquires 51 percent of building automation specialist, MSR-Solutions
Company to gain competence in automation systems for existing buildings and new construction.
International heating systems manufacturer, Viessmann Group, has acquired 51 percent of MSR-Solutions, a hardware and software solutions provider for the automation of buildings. Based in Allgäu in southern Germany, the company has 50 employees involved in the development and marketing of electronic products used for measurement, control and regulation.
Technologies pursued by the four million Euros turnover company (2011), founded in 2001, include innovative wireless home automation systems that avoid the laying of cables, thus making them suitable for retrofit and new build installations and easy to expand with subsequent extensions.
Viessmann recognises the importance of building automation for detached and semi-detached family homes, large residential and commercial properties where individual room control, comfort and security are being increasingly demanded by customers of its heating products. This acquisition is a response to ongoing structural change brought about by the increased take-up of renewable energy and energy-efficient systems and requests for interconnected heating zones within buildings and the use of smartphones and tablet computers as a means of control. Companies such as MS-Solutions are at the forefront of such developments.
